November 30th, 2008

Business needs these days have changed drastically. One can ship products from across the country and even on the other side of the globe. And for businesses that require ground shipments, the need for reliable trucks never ends. Trucks are very important in businesses that rely on deliveries and other activities that involve transportation. Buying brand new trucks can be expensive.

The common goal of any business might be small, medium-sized or large scale is to have profits. The formula to get high profits is to have increase in sales and decrease in expenses. But let?s face it, not all companies can get into this formula completely. Most often, companies have increase in sales yet the expenses are enormous. Those who have decrease in sales, also have decrease in expenses. With companies who need to have ground shipments, having a reliable truck is such a difficult task to do and will always be there.

Having trucks is very essential to a company who depends much of having goods, supplies, and other raw materials delivered right to and from the company warehouse. Thinking of purchasing brand new trucks is out of the question especially in this time when the world is experiencing an economic crisis. The best alternative is purchasing used trucks. The price of the used trucks is way, way cheaper compared to buying new trucks. Prices can even be half of the price of a brand new truck. Come to think of it, the money that a company can save on purchasing used trucks can be used on investing on another equipment needed by the company.

The secret of having a used truck to last for years is to maintain the truck properly. The number one part that should be well maintained of is the engine. When the engine is in good running condition, then definitely it will come a long way. Most of the businesses today that rely on trucks for its day-to-day operations purchased used truck and have a regular and proper maintenance on it.

With the increase of fuel prices and cost of living had shoot up, then it is very practical to invest on an equipment such as used truck to save money and have it invested on another useful equipment for the company.

With the number of trucks being sold out in the market and new models have been released, some companies might be small or large-scale often choose to purchase used trucks for the main reason of saving money and practicality. A truck will always be a truck might be a new or used truck. Whether new or used, a truck does perform same function and both need to be well maintained in order to last for a longer period of time.

Kenworth Truck Financing

November 27th, 2008

In today’s economy, start up and seasoned businesses have an unique opportunity to acquire an attractive deal for any type of Kenworth truck. The first option, for the buyer, is to visit their local dealer and find his truck there. This is great place to start and obtain pertinent information that will be used later in the data gathering process. From there, it is recommended searching the internet and its mass volume of data that is available. The potential buyer can visit such sites as truck paper and truck trader etc to view thousands of listings of trucks available across the United States. He is able to sort and sift through this vast data and should be able to find a truck, in any city and/or state across the U.S, that meets his acquistion requirements. Once he has located a source of trucks available to him, he is able to contact these sellers and negotiate a deal that might be able to meet his needs. Once he is agreed to a price and its particulars, his next hurdle is to find adequate financing in today’s complex lending world of this commodity.

The type of Kenworth trucks we are identifying for this article is the following:

Dump trucks, semi trucks, garbage and refuse trucks, Tow trucks, Cement Trucks, Concrete Trucks, Flatbed Trucks, etc

Today, the financing arena for Kenworth trucks has become much smaller, especially for over the road trucks.. Lenders, in the past, that use to finance this niche market have either pulled their portfolio funds out of this area or have modified its lending requirements. It is not unheard of today that a start up business must commit to a down payment of between 10% - 30% of the acquistion cost of the Kenworth truck to enter this market. The seasoned business with good credit might be able to get in as little as one payment down plus documents fees but must have either A or B Credit.

As the economy has weakened due to market conditions, including diesel gas reaching $4.50 or more per gallon in certain states, the route of conventional financing has changed as we know it. The lender has acquired another problem that makes their equation a little more complicated. In the past year as the price of food has gone up, the real estate markets have taken a toll for the worse and other world factors have caused the banks to be more unstable, the trucking industry has become more volatile. As the increase of defaults on the payments of Mack and all other trucks have risen to all time highs, the lenders have been taking back these trucks by the droves that are earmarked as repossessions. This has caused a problem with normal lending practices and trying to balance it with a non producing income portfolio. If these lenders don’t act swiftly and prudently, the combination of these two type of portfolios can be devasating to the lenders’ bottom line. A third factor to consider is the off lease truck. These trucks are being returned to the lender and they must act accordingly with this third factor.

Today, some of the lenders in the financial market have advertised personal credit qualifications as low as 600, prior bankruptcy rules amended or ignored, and start up businesses welcome. Additionally, the front money to commence a lease can start as low as first payment only to whatever you might able to negotiate. Some of the lenders have application only programs up to $250,000. There are no financial statements, income tax returns or bank statements required. Additionally, some lenders may defer some of payments to get the semi trucks financed. The buyout clauses on these over the road trucks can range from a $1.00 buyout to 10% to 20%, Trac leases to possible fair market value buyouts. One should understand these clauses because they have an impact on the passing of title.

Additionally, there are two distinct financing markets out there, one for the normal acquisition from the dealership and the possibility of acquiring a repo and off lease from a lender at favorable market and financing terms. As always it is advisable, if possible, to locate financing prior to truck shopping, it could save a lot of time and stress.

All About Dump Truck For Sale

November 25th, 2008

When you were a kid, it was pretty simple to buy a dump truck. You just headed down to your local toy or grocery store, bought a plastic model, and brought it home to the sandbox for hours of fun until it broke, and you just repeated the steps.

While you still might be fulfilling your boyhood dreams by spending hours in significantly larger sandboxes, but buying that new dump truck isn’t as easy as it once was. You want a truck that can stand up to the rigors of your hard-working life, a truck that won’t break after too many hours in the sandbox.

Fortunately, those kinds of dump trucks are for sale all around the United States for the price that you want to pay. Whether new or used, dump trucks for sale range from Kenworths truck to Peterbilts  truck to International truck, and they’re all just waiting for someone to purchase them.

One of the best places to begin research about dump trucks is on the trucker boards. A simple Google or Yahoo search will bring up relevant discussion topics. No one knows truckers better than the trucker, and while a manufacturer or even trucking company may lie about the success of a certain vehicle for economic reasons, most truckers are pretty honest when letting off steam. By starting with discussion boards, you can ask relevant questions to truckers about their dump trucks, such as how they function in inclement weather, their highway and off-highway fuel mileage, and their durability.

Once you’ve exhausted the discussion board option, you probably have an idea of the type of truck you’d like to purchase, but if not, consultation with trucker friends or e-mails to trucking professionals can help you come up with a list of the best dump trucks for sale. Once you have your ideal truck in mind, it’s time to begin the search. Truckers can search the Internet, classified newspapers in their hometowns, and even truck shows and truck auctions for great deals on used dump trucks. Many sites feature a host of used dump trucks that allow users to compare specs and prices in addition to viewing photos.

For those who want a new truck, however, new dump truck listings can be found online by perusing dealers’ web sites or in person by making a trip to the nearest truck dealer who carries commercial vehicles.

Dump trucks for sale are relatively easy to find now that communication and research has become so easy. Truckers should remember, however, to determine what kind of dump truck they want through research before actually setting out to buy. By doing this, truckers avoid getting duped, and can make sure their trucks make it out of the sandbox.

Need To Sell Your Dump Truck?

November 24th, 2008

Every time while your contents from one place to another, you must be wishing to have a bigger dump truck so that all the carriages can fit in well. Transportation of goods and carriages becomes very easy with the right choice of the dump trucks.

While transporting things for various purposes these heavy dump trucks are generally used to carry the loose materials and heavy articles. These trucks are usually set with a hydraulically operated box that is hinged at the rear of the truck which can be raised up and down so as to easily unload the content onto the ground. There is a wide range of uses of the dump trucks which vary from transporting the construction based materials like the sand, gravels, bricks, cement and iron rods to the transportation of the house contents like beds, wardrobes, furniture and the decorative items. These trucks appear to be very useful for the production based industries that exclusively trade with the construction of commercial buildings and residential. Thus these trucks are very beneficial to the businessmen having transportation businesses.

These trucks are usually loaded with very heavy objects and thus need good maintenance for the long and smooth running. The maintenance of these trucks is not as smooth as we imagine it to be. Any businessman would not like his dumping truck lying in the garage for weeks due to some minor faults as this may cause a lot of loss to his business. Hence to avoid such unnecessary losses, the truck needs regular check ups. Checking all the important parts of the truck before transporting the goods to the receiver should be preferred so as to avoid unnecessary mishaps on the way which may lead to large losses.

While using these trucks like Isuzu truck, Volvo truck, Mack truck for the transportation of raw materials and other carriages it is equally necessary to know of when your truck should be sold off. Thus we help you to know of when you should consider selling your truck.

” When the truck gets about seven years old it should probably be sold.

” In case the truck meets with an accident and is damaged badly it should be sold else later might cause minor problems which would need to be serviced again and again.

” If it starts causing more technical problems rather than being used for the business, selling the truck should be considered.

” The truck should be sold away if it is giving some minor problems but is fetching you a good resale value.

It is better to sell the truck rather than suffering from high damages caused by the dump truck. Thus the above mentioned points should be considered to analyze the condition of your truck and then come to a conclusion whether or not you want to sell it or not.

Drop-in and Spray-on Truck Bed Liners

November 23rd, 2008

One of the greatest qualities of a truck, whether a semi-truck, pickup truck, or dump truck, mack truck, Freightliner truck,  is its ability to carry heavy loads. But truck owners know that repeated use of the truck bed with heavy materials will cause wear and tear. In order to protect ones investment in the truck, truck box liners have become a popular form of defense. They not only increase the lifespan of the vehicle, but will also increase the value of the truck if the owner should ever consider trading, selling, or leasing their equipment.

There many different features that truck box liners have to offer, but they all fall into two general categories: drop-in and spray-on. There are pros and cons of each option, which should be examined and researched before a purchase is made. The type of liner a buyer ultimately chooses depends largely on the type of hauling that will take place with his or her truck.

Drop-in bed liners offer a high amount of protection to a truck’s bed, and are generally applied to industrial-grade trucks. The liners are often fairly thick and have rigid bodies to prevent dents in the bed of the truck. Also, they last a long time, are easy to install and remove, and are easy to clean. Some plastics manufacturers, like Horn Plastics Inc., produce a variety of truck bed liner styles, with each style offering different strengths. For example, UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight) liners, contain silicon to make the surface slippery, allowing materials to be easily unloaded without sticking.

Drop in liners need to be properly installed and maintained, so they don’t shift around in the truck bed. For example, if dirt, sand, or other materials get underneath the liner, scratching of the bed could occur. This can also cause weak spots to form in the liner, but following through with the recommended maintenance and cleaning is the best way to prevent this from happening. When maintained properly, the lifetime of HMW and UHMW drop-in liners are greatly extended.

The second form of liner is a spray-on type. These liners are sprayed directly onto the truck bed, and there is a reduced possibility of slipping or scratching. Although they are not as thick as the drop-in style, the spray-on liners do minimize minor denting. They are easy to clean, available in many different colors, and have a sleek look. However, because these bed liners are applied directly to the truck, they cannot be removed. Heavy or sharp loads will have a greater chance of damaging, gouging, or denting the truck bed with spray-on liners because of their limited thickness and durability. Also, spilled paints, or other hard-to-remove stains are made even more difficult to remove because of these liners, potentially overruling the variety of color choices by permanently staining the bed.

A truck bed liner exists for almost any type of load one my wish to carry. When choosing an appropriate liner for your truck bed, a few important points to keep in mind are:

1. How is the truck being used
2. What types of loads is it carrying
3. How long does the liner need to last
4. Are the visual aesthetics of the truck important

While evaluating liners, these questions will facilitate finding and choosing the right type of liner for your needs. And you’ll end up with a safe and effective product that will extend the capabilities and lifetime of your truck.

Have Look On Semi Trucks

November 20th, 2008

In today’s unstable economy, the start up and seasoned business has an unique opportunity to acquire an attractive deal for off leases and repos for semi trucks, big rigs and over the road trucks. Due to a contracting economy, many lenders have excess inventories on their books that they need to put back into their revenue stream as quick as possible. These in-house inventories are non income producing, therefore putting pressure on the lender to make a deal with the consumer. These deals can be found in the price, the financing or a combination of both.

An off lease and repo semi truck has been returned to the lender as the lease has expired. The lessee has made a decision to return the item in lieu of exercising the buyout option. A repo has arisen due to a default of the lessee for non payment terms or a violation of the terms of the lease. Either way, the lender has taken these trucks back and/and now must recondition them and either sell these trucks or re-lease them.

The lender will either advertise their inventories through their internal sales force, trade journals such as truckpaper, truck trader etc or utilize outside professionals such as brokers to move their inventories as quick as possible. Sometimes, as these inventories either sit or whatever reasons aren’t moving, the lender will put these items up for auction.

Some of the lenders in the market have advertised personal credit qualifications as low as 575, prior bankruptcy rules amended or ignored and start ups welcome. Additionally, the front money to commence the lease can start as low as first payment to whatever you might able to negotiate. Some of the lenders have application only programs up to $250,000. There are no financial statements, income tax returns or bank statements required. Additionally, some lenders may defer some of payments to get the semi trucks financed. The buyout clauses on these over the road trucks can range from a $1.00 buyout to 10% to 20% Trac leases to possible fair market value buyouts. One should understand these clauses because they have an impact on the passing of title.

For this article, the type of items we are going to identify as potential deals for the customer are the following manufacturers.

Petebilt truck, Mack truck, Kenworth truck, International truck, Freightliner truck, and Volvo truck.

Additionally, these semi trucks utilize a substantial amount of diesel fuel and this gasoline cost should be evaluated in conjunction with the finance costs of the truck. As the price of oil keeps going up, the decision making on both the dealer/lender and the customer has made it more difficult to balance the factors of profitabilty and survival.

In conclusion, this is a buyers market for semi trucks and one should evaluate all the factors relating to this acquisition including gas costs, air emissions, environmental type requirements, buyout clauses and the related financing.

Truck Is Popular As Heavy Duty Vehicles

November 17th, 2008

The word ‘truck’ is believed to be a derivative of Greek word – “trochos” which takes the meaning of a wheel. Lorry is yet another term used in this conjunction in United Kingdom whereas wagons with large wheels are known as trucks in North America. Pickup trucks, semi trucks, GMC trucks are the variants that are available. In countries like New Zealand and Australia a small vehicle with open back is known as ‘ute’ (abbreviated form of ‘utility vehicle’) or also known as pick-up. In the US only large vehicles used in commercial purposes are called as trucks.

The various important parts of the truck are the Engine, the Drive train and the frame.

Engine: An Engine forms the most important part of a truck as it decides the running capability of a truck and has to be carefully chosen to match the application for which the truck is intended to be used. Gasoline engines are generally used by small trucks like the pickups or SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles) and also by the medium duty trucks. However heavier trucks generally use four stroke turbo intercooler diesel engines and highway trucks employ locomotive-type engines which are either two-stroke or a V12 Detroit diesel engine. Most of the truck manufacturers in North America outsource the engine, whereas companies like Volvo and Mack Trucks use their own engines. Euro 5 regulations are complied with by all the truck engines in European nations in the interest of the environment.

Drive Train: Light duty trucks use transmission method similar to that of the cars which are either automatic or manual with synchornisers. Heavier trucks however use manual transmission without synchroniser that is less bulky. Crash boxes (transmissions without synchronizers) have a requirement of employing double clutching for every shift, called as “floating”. Generally North American setups include 9,10,13,15 and 18 speed levels. Semi-automatic or fully automatic transmission system is generally preferred to reduce the fuel consumption. In European market the gears may be of 8, 10 and 12 in case of manual transmission while for automatic transmission it might range anywhere between 5-12 gears. The trucks generally have range shift pattern in the gear system.

Frame: Two parallel boxed rails held together by cross members are the main composites of the frame of a truck. They may also be called as ladder frames since they resemble that of a ladder when tipped on end. Crossmembers are mostly attached to frame rails by using rivets or bolts, but sometimes may be welded in case of heavy duty application. The material used to make frame is generally steel but aluminium can also be a substitute to it.

Although trucks contribute to some pollution, they eject fewer air polluting emissions when compared to a car or any other vehicle, but still it contributes to a high level of sound pollution.

Have Look On Vacuum Trucks Financing

November 16th, 2008

In today’s economy, start up and seasoned businesses have an unique opportunity to acquire an attractive deal for any type of Vacuum truck with the possibility of special financing.

The manufacturers of Vacuum trucks we are identifying for this article are the following:

Peterbilt truck, Kenworth truck, Volvo truck, Mack truck, Freightliner truck, International truck, GMC truck, Sterling truck, Ford truck. These trucks may be new or used.

Additionally, these trucks will include a vacuum tank attached to the truck and will come in various years, makes, and models which contain various gallon capacities.

Today, the financing arena for Vacuum trucks has become much smaller. Lenders, in the past, that use to finance this niche market have either pulled their portfolio funds out of this area or have modified its lending requirements. It is not unheard of today that a start up business must commit to a down payment of between 10% - 30% of the acquistion cost of the Vacuum truck to enter this market. The seasoned business with good credit might be able to get in as little as one payment down plus documents fees but must have either A or B Credit. Other seasoned businesses that don’t meet these credit requirements, may be required to put up 10-20% down or either put up additional collateral as their credit scores fall below 600.

Most buyers don’t enjoy these tightening financial requirements, are locked out of this market, and will start looking for alternatives that are available due to market conditions. In addition to the market requirements of substantial monies due upfront, the conventional lender has modified his risk/reward factor for the failure and possible repossession of these trucks. Therefore, the rate and/or interest factor that the lender charges has gone up making it a bigger challenge to complete the financing end once the want to be buyer locates his acquisition.

By definition, a Vacuum off lease Truck has been returned to the lender as the lease has expired. The lessee has made a decision to return the item in lieu of exercising the buyout option. A repossession is different than an off lease because it has arisen due to a default of the lessee for non payment terms or a violation of the terms of the lease. Either way, the lender has taken these trucks back and/and now must recondition these trucks and either sell these trucks or re-lease them.

In conclusion, this is a buyer’s market for Vacuum trucks. One should evaluate all the factors relating to this acquisition including gas costs, air emissions, environmental type requirements., buyout clauses acquisition costs and its related financing.
